CHOCOLATES AND NOUGATS

1910
Rafael Comas, from the village of Castellfollit de la Roca, in the Garrotxa region of the Province of Girona, Catalonia, founds a chocolate factory which he named "Las Comas", after his own surname. In the beginning only chocolate bars were made in a very simple way and in very small quantities.

1930
Rafael Comas sells his factory to his grandson Ricard Planas.

1948
Ricard Planas sells the factory to Josep Canadell Barbí. It is at this time that the cocoa powder product line is incorporated, very highly thought of and appreciated by customers to this day.

1968
Josep Canadell Barbí, together with his son, also called Josep, incorporate Sr. Cartier as a new partner. He brings the brand "Cémoi" to the company and there is a change of name to : Las Comas - Cémoi, S.A.

1975

Sr. Jordi Gusinyé Canadell enters as the new major shareholder, taking the place of Mr. Cartier. This year the factory is modernised and expands with the introduction of a new product which did not exist in the market up to now, Chocolate Turron (Turron is a local sweet delicacy) sold under the brand name "Las Comas". This brand, a world pioneer in the manufacture of chocolate turron specialities, is of an excellent quality, which is why we can still enjoy them today.

1998

José M. Pérez and family bay the company, diversifying the xocolat and cacao sector launching new lines to market, amongst its the GRAN SELECTION.

Also, Pérez family give a big push to the company messing up a new line of diethetics products (Body-10, Nutrisiluet, etc.) for the weight control, world trade products.
